HIMUL is the abbreviation of Himalayan Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. It is based on the model of AMUL, one of India's first Milk Producers Cooperative Union. AMUL's success story was sought to be repeated in Darjeeling Hills but so far it has failed1 due to various problems in the Hills and Dooars Terai, mainly political instability and lack of managerial and professional skills.

HIMUL produces various products including Milk Sachets, Mineral Water, Curd, Ice Cream, Lassi etc.
