LGBT rights in Korea

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights are not recognized by the Korean government. While the criminal code does not appear to expressly address same-sex sexuality or cross-dressing, there is no visible LGBT community in the Koreas and no LGBT rights movement. Prevailing public attitudes about marriage, human sexuality and gender roles are all, reportedly, very conservative and the government depictions of gay people tend to depict it as some sort of weakness found among decadent capitalist foreigners.
