Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park is one of the most respected Zoological Parks in the nation. It offers wildlife rarely seen elsewhere in India. Spread over the fringes of Jawahar Parbat and below Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the zoological park was establish in 1958 with the objectives of ‘study, conservation and preservation’ of Himalayan fauna.
The zoo today houses India's only collection of Siberian tigers and rare species of animals, such as the red panda and the Tibetan wolf. It also houses Snow Leopard Breeding Center which is worth a visit.
